Avignon, Marseille, Aix en Provence, Pont du Gard
Avignon, Marseille and Aix en Provence are cities easily accessible by car from the Luberon Lub'heureux holiday rentals. Cities that are no longer presented as they are known worldwide.
A shopping day in Aix en Provence? Strolling along Cours Mirabeau and strolling from shop to shop in the alleys of downtown Aix en Provence is easily accessible, in 1 hour 15 minutes by car. Two routes are possible: the first, which I recommend to go there, takes you through the valley in the middle of the Luberon massif, passing through Lourmarin. Landscapes to admire along the way. The second, which I recommend on your return, is to take the A7 motorway and exit at Cavaillon, then return to Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt via the Luberon departmental road. The duration of these two journeys is equivalent, one winding through the reliefs, the other longer in kilometers but taking the main roads.
Marseille is barely further: 1h30 by car. Several exceptional sites: the Old Port, the Mucem, the Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde Basilica, the creeks of Cassis. And if you have more time: the Auffes valley and the Goudes are worth a look, as well as the Palais Longchamps and the Chateau d'If.
Avignon is 50 minutes' drive from the Luberon Lub'heureux gites. Several remarkable visits: the city of the Popes, Notre-Dame des Doms, the ramparts which surround the city center, its shopping streets, the Doms rock, the clock square, the museums (small palace, Calvet foundation, Requien , Angladon), the famous Pont d'Avignon (Saint-Bénézet), partially destroyed by a strong flood from the Rhône in 1669. Without forgetting Fort Saint-André and the Chartreuse de Villeneuve opposite, on the other bank of the Rhône.
26km further, visit the famous Pont du Gard!
For athletes, the Avignon skydiving base in Pujaut allows you to book tandem jumps, initiation courses, or more simply flights in a free fall simulator, an original activity that is easy to access with family or friends.
